More hair…

Long, short, shaved; black, red or gray, hairstyles reflect your personal appearance.  A hairstyle can flatter a man’s appearance or devalue his look. Here are some quotes about hair, surely you can relate to one.

“A celebrity is any well-known TV or movie star who looks like he spends more than two hours working on his hair.”  Steve Martin

“Gray hair is a blessing – ask any bald man.”  Author Unknown

“Hair brings one’s self-image into focus; it is vanity’s proving ground.  Hair is terribly personal, a tangle of mysterious prejudices.”  Shana Alexander

“Some of the worst mistakes in my life were haircuts.”  Jim Morrison

Statement Hair, a do or don’t

Clearly a man’s hair can make a fashion statement.  On the February 22nd blog, myteampicks gave Ryan Bedford a starting position for his USA hair.  We thought the Olympic Speed Skater proudly represented the USA.  His red, white and blue hair was neat, and made a specific point, “I am skating for the USA!”

On the contrary, Los Angeles Lakers’ Ron Artest showed up with his new purple and yellow hair. The word defense was written around his head.  The average person probably didn’t know it said defense since it was written in Japanese, Hebrew and Hindi.

Ron, I must WAIVE your hair decision! Ron’s hair doesn’t have the same effect as Ryan Bedford’s hair.  To see the hair and not understand the hair, makes Ron look chaotic.

The Scholarly Look

Myteampicks fan Bx2Bmore, requested our opinion on James Harden.  For those who are not familiar with James, he is the shooting guard for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.  Harden played collegiate basketball for the Arizona State Sun Devils and was selected 3rd overall by the Thunder in the 2009 NBA Draft.

I don’t have a recent photograph of James, so I decided to critique his dress from the 2009 NBA Drafts, his picture is below:  (if anyone has a recent picture, please send)

There are some folks that may not enjoy the intellectual, studious, or should I say scholarly look, and for those folks, you have your opinion.  Myteampicks however, loves the look.  James has a fair balance between the cream, tan and brown colors.  His pinstriped shirt, and the bow tie work perfectly! I would however, take off the extra-large timepiece.  I must say, it’s difficult achieving the scholarly look, but James is definitely a STARTER!

Best Dressed Men of All Times

Esquire magazine has named 75 best dressed men of all times, and New England Patriots’ Tom Brady made the list. As you know, I always remind people that simplicity is best, Esquire chose Tom for his classic, simple taste; dark suits, white shirts and dark ties.  I totally agree!

Tom Brady you are a STARTER!

Men and Scaves

In the earlier blog we weren’t sure if Terrell Owens should drop the scarf he was wearing or tie it differently.  It’s simply a matter of opinion.  For those of you who care to see different ways scarves can be tied, view the video below:
